I love the Disney Fantasia videos.... for the most part. Let's just say I disagree on certain interpretations.

However, they got this one right! And I totally love the music. (I actually recognize it from one of the Olympian skaters from the Olympics this past winter!!) Anyway, just wanted to share it with you.

Katie

When I was in kindergarten, we adopted a little labrador puppy named that we named Katie. She moved towns with us, and has been a much loved member of our family.

We all knew she was on her way out this past winter, and were surprised when she survived. She was a very, very old lab and each step she took pained her.

I found her this morning. She's not in any pain now.

Honor and Glory

How come in books and TV shows, there are always brave fighters who fight for honor and glory? And they want nothing more than to die with those two things?

I can think of nothing more stupid. I mean really! Fighting for two abstract things that don't even make sense!

What exactly is honor? It's simply being honest and righteous in your actions. So why on earth would you want to fight and die with honor when you can simply live in honor?

And glory? Why should I even start that? Glory is not ours (or imaginary characters) to earn and hold. It's the same thing as fighting for pride. Sheesh.


In case you haven't guessed, I'm in a very weird mood due to the fact that the guy in my book died.

How to Survive as a Superhero

Okay, for those of you who know me, you know I've created a superhero team called the Interlopers. The major character is a teenage winged boy named Windspeed Stormrider. The intent of creating this world was to write about it, but it's so all over the place. It'd make a good television show, but to write about it, I'd have to delete several characters.

However, I had thought of this list of dos and don'ts for heroes, and I thought I'd share it with you. (As Windspeed of course)

Rule 1. Never underestimate your opponent.

Trust me, it only comes back to haunt you. I should know. I've been underestimated enough times.

Rule 2. Don't showboat. Ever.

Showboating can turn a really simple situation into something a bit more serious. Showboating and showing off can give the bg a shot s/he wouldn't ordinarily have.

Rule 4. Never turn your back on an enemy. Even if you think he's down.

I've seen it so many times. The hero turns his back on the bg thinking s/he is unconscious. Then said bg stands up and deals a devestating blow to the back of the hero. Naturally, there are some cases when you are dealing with multiple threats on multiple fronts, so you'll have to take your eyes off of a downed opponent. This leads me to the Rule 5.

Rule 5. Pay ATTENTION!

Situational awarness is a really good thing. It saves your life. Don't let yourself zone out.

Rule 6. There's a difference between mercy and stupidity.

This does not mean be a bully or a killer. If the person is really dangerous, make sure he'll stay down. Shoot him in the leg or something. But if it becomes clear you have to take him out, DO IT.

Rule 7. There's no such thing as a fair fight.

The people you are fighting will kill you. They will not play by the rules and they will not behave honorably. So, unless your in a duel, neither do you. If you see a shot, take it. Don't let anything go to waste, whether it's effort or power. If you can just as easily kick him in the nads and take him down than some complicated dance move thing, just do it. It makes life a whole lot easier.


This is all this cowboy can think of at the moment, but be sure I'll be adding more stuff later on.

First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth

A couple of weeks ago, we went to Fort Worth for General Conference. It was being held at FUMC FW.

That was not a church. That was a castle. And I have proof!

Please take Offense

I was watching golf with my dad (he was watching, I was on the computer) and a commercial for Cialis comes on. I will not explain what that is. If you don't know, Google it.

On the commercial, I noticed that the announcer guy said "partner." Not wife, but "partner." It got me thinking. On most commercials and news casts, people are now saying the word "partner" instead of wife or husband.

Since when have those terms become offensive?

And more important, why should we have to hide what is right to make those who are sinning feel better?

I'll not go into a long rant about why homosexuality is sinful, mainly because I don't feel like typing that much. However, I will state that this isn't the only issue where people are covering up the righteous in order to make the wicked feel more secure. This is mainly a Christian thing, but shouldn't Christianity affect the way we see things?

We shouldn't be ashamed to speak the truth because we might offend someone who's not. When we use euphamisms in the place of words that should poke us in the heart, who on earth are we helping? How are we supposed to minister to people if we're too busy worrying about being politically correct? If they're offended by the truth, then they've already made up their minds about being offended. So, there's absolutely no point in being afraid of saying the truth that God wants us to say.



Now, I don't know if this post actually forms a coherent thought, but like I said in the description, my thoughts are jumbled.

First Video Attempt

Alright, I had tried this earlier (and failed), so I went and read Blogger's FAQ. So, maybe now this will work.

I like making certain that I can do stuff, so that when I *need* to do it, I don't freak out. Like I usually do.
